Colt Sherrell

Bio

I have been golfing for ten years and playing competitive golf since I was 10. Golf is my favorite sport and my main passion, but I also like to play other sports such as basketball, tennis, and I am a killer ping pong player.   I also love to bow hunt for elk and fish for anything that bites my bait.

I just finished the fall season of my Junior year of High School golf as the #1 player on the varsity team. Team golf is very cool because it adds a different kind of pressure to the game.  In team golf you’re not just playing for your own score you’re playing for your team. This means there are times when I must play more aggressive and other times when I must play more conservative than if I am playing for myself.  Another fun part of team golf is the practices after school. It is a great time to work on my craft, share some good competition with my teammates, and find creative ways for all of us to elevate our games. When it comes to the team, I bring leadership, encouragement, and my overall knowledge of the rules while making it fun.

When I am looking at colleges, I look at the ability to earn a spot on the traveling team, the coach, their golf facilities, and the campus.  In college, I would like to study business, my mind is always looking at scenarios from a business point of view and I would like to turn that into my career after I become a winning professional on the PGA tour.
